The women of Delta Phi Scrappa cordially invite you to be a part of
our annual retreat and 2010 pledge class. This initiation weekend will
be filled with shopping, classes, product samples and plenty of time
and space to work on your scrapbooks. But true to sorority tradition,
the weekend will not be all work and no play! You can take a break
and get a massage, soak in the Jacuzzi or shop for new products.
No matter what you choose to do it is sure to be a
weekend worth scrapbooking!
What’s included in your Delta Phi Scrappa weekend?
- Two nights accommodation at Grand View Lodge in a deluxe condo unit
- Six feet of cropping space with cushioned office chair
- Friday night Make, Munch and Mix reception (make-n-take party and refreshments)

NOTE: The beautiful condos at Grand View Lodge all have two double/queen beds AND a hideabed or Murphy bed. Because of this, three guests could stay in each condo and all have their own bed. This also means that we are able to offer up to quintuple occupancy!! We are encouraging you to find as many roommates as you are comfortable with to help keep the price down! If you would like help finding a roommate, just contact us and we would be happy to connect you with other people looking for roommates!
Many of the condo units also have jacuzzi tubs! Special requests (like quint occupancy, multi-bedroom condos and jacuzzis!!) will be filled on a first come, first serve basis!
   
Extend Your Stay
Grand View is offering us a fantastic opportunity to extend the weekend!! You can stay any number of nights before or after our retreat for a wonderful rate!!! The cost is just $59 per person and includes the stay in the condo AND breakfast!! There is no minimum number of people required for the condo so even if you want some alone time you can book a stay for just $59/night!!!
There has already been some talk of people coming early and taking advantage of the FANTASTIC spa at Grandview (Glacial Waters). And just to make this option even more appealing, Grand View has just told us that they will be offering 20% off all 60 and 90 minute treatments booked for Thursday! Woo-hoo!! Spa day here we come!
Charm Swap
A new Delta Phi Scrappa tradition
was born at our Des Moines event....the charm swap! This very fun swap was a huge hit and we hope you will join us for it at Grand View! The swap is optional and you do not need to take either of the charm classes to participate (although we are BIG fans of the charm classes!). Here are the details on the swap....! And just to get you excited, here is a picture of all the charms from Lorna's Des Moines swap!

Charms 101
Taught by Candi Ladwig
Join Candi as we continue our new Delta Phi Scrappa tradition! Find out the inside scoop on making charms, purchasing supplies and using materials. Each participant will make three different glass tile charms as well as receive a bracelet to put them on.
Supplies Include: 3 glass tiles, bails and jumprings, 1 charm bracelet, paper, punches, and adhesive.
Cost: $15
Charms 201
Taught by Candi Ladwig
Ready for more? Candi will expand your charm world as she talks about using other materials such as beads, glitter, jump rings and more! Each student will create three new charms (no glass tiles) including the 2010 exclusive charm!!
Charm making basics will be covered in Charms 101 (plus attendees will receive a charm bracelet) so we ask that you take Charms 101 before taking Charms 201. You will be able to take both classes at Grand View if you did not take 101 in Des Moines!
Supplies Include: Beads, bails, jumprings and all supplies needed for the three charms. The charms pictured are just some sample charms and will not be exactly like the ones made in class.

Very Valentine's Workshop
Taught by Archiver's
You + this workshop = a perfect match! Create four Valentine cards plus an adorable treat jar that is sprinkled with lots and lots of sweetness. Reuse and Recycle: Going Scrapbook Green!

Are you ready to go scrappy green?!?! Don't throw away your scraps of paper, ribbon, stickers and boring embellishments! Reuse and recycle instead!! Come to this class for some fresh ideas on how to breath new life into your old supplies. You will also learn how to use some household items to make new layouts and embellishments. In addition to receiving a ton of ideas you will also create a two page layout filled with your new creations!

Chipboard Madness: Altered Chipboard Techniques
Taught by Jeni Heid
Give that chipboard new life with this technique class. You will play with different techniques to dress up boring, plain chipboard. You will move through a variety of stations and try your hand at adding texture, glitter, embellishments and more. And in the end you will have a mini-idea album!! You'll never throw away the chipboard sheets from your paper packs again!

Paisley and Petals Album
Taught by Julie Herrity-Weidenborner
How would you like to complete an entire 8x8 album in a two hour class? With SEI’s awesome “Album in a Box”, it’s possible! This is a cute and warm album project featuring all Paisleys and Petalsproducts from SEI.
Class kit includes : 8x8 album, pre-cut cardstocks, alphabet stickers, brads, cardstock frame/label stickers, post bound album, buttons, die-cut tags and complete color layout instructions. All itemscome in a coordinating Paisley and Petals gift box.
Want a great sense of accomplishment? This kit normally retails for $25.99 but you can get it in class for only $20!

Pieces of My Heart

Here's an adorable mini-album for you to create! In addition to creating a cherished keepsake, you will learn some tricks of the trade for extending your supplies, working with small spaces and incorporating home made embellishments.
Each class kit includes an entire "Honey Pie" 8 x 8 paper pad from Cosmo Cricket (which aslo includes journaling blocks, word strips and paper embellishments), a pack of heart shaped rain dots, 8 puzzle pieces from Rusty Pickle, a ring, a full set of ribbons and a title strip. This is a great class kit with product valued at over $35!
