Minnesota Initiation Event

The women of Delta Phi Scrappa cordially invite you to be a part of
our annual retreat and 2012 pledge class. This initiation weekend will
be filled with shopping, classes, product samples and plenty of time
and space to work on your scrapbooks. But true to sorority tradition,
the weekend will not be all work and no play! You can take a break
and get a massage, soak in the Jacuzzi or shop for new products.

No matter what you choose to do it is sure to be

a weekend worth scrapbooking!

What’s included in your Delta Phi Scrappa weekend?
- Two nights accommodation at Grand View Lodge in a deluxe condo unit
- Six feet of cropping space with cushioned office chair
- Friday night Make, Munch and Mix reception (make-n-take party and refreshments)
- Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner
- Sunday Brunch
- Option to add on a variety of classes
- Gifts, Give-a-ways and Games
- Access to on-site vendors
- Access to Grand View's award winning on-site spa
- Opportunity to participate in contests, charm swap and visits from the “Scrap Fairy”

- Option to add on additional nights and participate in early arrival activities

NOTE: The beautiful condos at Grand View Lodge all have two double/queen beds AND a hideabed or Murphy bed. Because of this, three guests could stay in each condo and all have their own bed. This also means that we are able to offer up to quintuple occupancy (limited availability). We are encouraging you to find as many roommates as you are comfortable with to help keep the price down! If you would like help finding a roommate, just contact us and we would be happy to connect you with other people looking for roommates!

Many of the condo units also have jacuzzi tubs! Special requests (like quint occupancy, multi-bedroom condos and jacuzzis!!) will be filled on a first come, first serve basis!

Extend Your Stay
Grand View is offering us a fantastic opportunity to extend the weekend!! You can stay any number of nights before or after our retreat for a wonderful rate!!! The cost is just $64 per person and includes the stay in the condo AND breakfast!! There is no minimum number of people required for the condo so even if you want some alone time you can book a stay for just $64/night!!!

There has already been some talk of people coming early and taking advantage of the FANTASTIC spa at Grandview (Glacial Waters). And just to make this option even more appealing, Grand View has just told us that they will be offering 20% off all 60 and 90 minute treatments booked for Thursday! Woo-hoo!! Spa day here we come!

Charm Swap
A new Delta Phi Scrappa tradition was born at our Des Moines event....the charm swap! This very fun swap was a huge hit and we hope you will join us for it at Grand View! The swap is optional and you do not need to take either of the charm classes to participate (although we are BIG fans of the charm classes!). And just to get you excited, here is a picture of all the charms from Lorna's Des Moines swap!

Phast and Phun Layouts

New!! A great option for all early arrivers and a wonderful way to jump start your weekend of scrappin'!!

Put an end to those slow starting weekends and those road blocks that never seem to pass. Come and join us and complete your first 2 layouts of the weekend. This phun 2 page spread will help give you a phresh new outlook on your scrappin' style! And it is sure to be one that you'll want to duplicate throughout our weekend. You will bring your own paper to this class so you can be sure that it is something that you will use!

Little Black Dress

Back by Popular Demand!!! Do you have the perfect little black dress? The one that works for just about any occasion? In this class you will find a little black dress layout that does the same thing for your scrapbooking!! This class will help you speed up your creative juices and make you more productive and satisfied with each of your layouts. Each participant will come away with a little black dress design that will be tailored to fit for their own style and can be used over and over again---especially helpful when you are "stuck" with a set of pictures you don't know what to do with!! The class fee includes all handouts, complete materials for a 2 pages spread (which includes 2 sheets of pattern and 1 sheet of solid paper, ribbon, coordinating embellishment, journal block and title page). During the class we will be rearranging these elements to help each participant choose the Little Black Dress Layout that best meets their needs and fits their style. Everyone will get copies of the various designs to duplicate them outside of class.

This class takes 30 minutes or less and you have a Scrappin-ly AWESOME keepsake from your DPS weekend! Included are 9"x7" frame with a 4"x6" photo opening, paper, flower, bling and Stickles.

Smashed!

Saturday, 11:00 AM -- Optional Workshop with kit purchase

Get SMASHED by pre ordering your exclusive Smash Book starter kit from Delta Phi. The girls have gone wild here at DPS…yes I said WILD over these new scrapbooking sensations and didn’t stop there. We went completely crazy when we placed our order, so don’t miss your chance to get the complete set. If you order your Getting Smashed book kit with us, you’ll have everything you’ll need to get you started on your way to a new scrapbooking high. The kits will be distributed at 11:00 AM on Saturday morning and you’re invited to stay and hang out with us to discuss a few strategies in solving the smash book craze or other world affairs. You will see samples of Smash Books done by your DPS sisters and get a miriad of ideas on what to do with yours!

In this class we will be learning 3 new flowers...an origami flower, and two other 3D flowers. You can add these to your collection from last year or start your new obsession for flower making! You won't believe the gorgeous flowers you can create out of paper!!!! More pictures coming soon!

Charmed!

Have you always wanted to participate in the charm swamp but don't know where to start? In this class we will be making 3 different charms. We will be making a beaded charm, shrinky dink charm and tile charm. Come learn the basics to help you get started in the fun of making charms!! Photos will be coming soon!

Mosaics

Come and learn the basic Mosaic Moments technique in this free workshop! Grid paper, some basic tools and a few photos can make a stunning page! Learn the technique and then work on it throughout the day. You will need a cutting mat with 1” markings, an exacto knife, removable hermafix dot adhesive and a metal ruler. We will have all of these products available to purchase if you do not have them.

What girl doesn't’t love jewelry? Well this Jewel certainly does! Come join me for a fun class discovering the art of simple jewelry making with the amazing new Vintaj line. You will walk away with a terrific necklace and earring set to keep or give as a gift. The necklace is shown below. Items may vary slightly depending on availability. Earrings will be a simple beaded medallion with a wire hook to help round out this beautiful and unique ensemble. You will love how easy Vintaj is to work with! This house shaped 5"x6" chipboard album is so adorable you will want to keep it for yourself...but it would make a great gift as well! The kit includes a 5 page house album, ring, ribbon, paper, rub-ons, chipboard accents and detailed instructions. You have the option of just purchasing this special priced kit OR you can attend a workshop for one-on-one assistance and to get a jump start on the kit. This is a simple and adorable project that you can easily complete during the weekend!!!

You have the option of participating in some fun weekend contests! How about participating in our crop table decorating contest?? Start scheming with your cropping pals to come up with some fun decor for your crop room table(s)! Here are just a few of the amazing tables from 2011!!

We will also be hosting a Sorority Spirit contest. This can go along with your table theme or be something totally different. We are looking for the best Delta Phi Scrappa outfits!! Check out some of the winners from last year!
